I have never watched American Dad.
I honestly can’t put my finger on why.
Maybe because it looks like a carbon copy of Family Guy?
Although, that’s not necessarily a bad thing as I love Family Guy.
I just came across www.watchamericandad.com, where you can stream all three American Dad series thus far.
Because I have a void in my life since Lost went on its mid-season hiatus, I’m going to give American Dad a try after my day of football.
You should too.
is one of my favourite programmes in the whole world.
Yes, I’m 21. Don’t give me that look. I know it’s a cartoon, but it’s so damn funny. I started watching South Park when I was like 12/13 and it only seemed funny at the time because it swore a lot, Cartman would push the boundaries of controversy pretty much every episode and it just generally had the toilet humour that seemed appropriate for a young adolescent.
Fast forward nearly 10 years and I still appreciate it for so many different reasons. Yeah it’s still as offensive as Sarah Jessica Parker’s face, but unlike most TV shows and movies, it responds to popular culture almost instantly. It parodies other shows, celebrites and trends with almost every passing week. This must be fairly easy for them to do as an episode doesn’t take too long to create, so if they want to respond to something (like the recent Guitar Queer-o, or ages ago when they came out with the Michael Jackson episode when Jacko was in the papers pretty much every day) then it doesn’t take them too long to do that.
So, in homage of South Park, I’m going to link you to some of my favourite episodes of South Park on the net. At www.southparkzone.com you can watch every episode of South Park ever recorded, but there’s been 20+ episodes for over 10 seasons, so where to start…?
S02E06 : The Mexican Staring Frog of Southern Sri Lanka - One of the first South Park’s I ever watched, and is one of my faves for a couple of reasons… it’s ridiculous for one, and two some of the supporting cast of characters are just hilarious in this episode.
S05E03: The Cripple Fight - Timmy vs Jimmy. The funniest damn scene in the history of South Park, without question. The whole episode is worth watching for that fight alone.
S05E06: Cartman Land - Cartman comes in to money, buys his own theme park and promptly bans everyone from entering because he’s sick of queuing. How could that not be funny?
S06E06: Professor Chaos - I love Butters. And I love his dark side too. So of course I love his evil alias Professor Chaos. But it has to be said, his side kick General Disarray has the best name of all time.
S06E14: Lemmiwinks - This episode is called “The Death Camp of Tolerance” but will forever be remember for the story of Lemmiwinks… the class hamster who is inserted up a gay man’s ass and has to find his way out. Doesn’t sound too funny, but with a cast of already dead animals up there too, it becomes too good for words. The first episode I ever think of when people talk about their favourites.
S07E02: Krazy Kripples - Jimmy and Timmy join the gang The Crips. I don’t think I need to say anything else.
S08E01: Good Times With Weapons - The boys start to play with weapons, and Butters promptly gets stabbed in the face. Hilarity ensues.
S08E07: The Jeffersons - Michael *cough*Jackson*cough* Jefferson moves in to South Park and Cartman is swept away by his peter pan-esque lifestyle. Lots of brilliant songs in this one, and just generally a good laugh at Michael Jackson.
S10E07: Tsst - Cartman is so disobedient that his mum has to turn to a dog whisperer to curb his behaviour. This includes taking Cartman for a walk, and jabbing him in the neck every time he’s out of order.
S11E01: With Apologies to Jesse Jackson - South Park + Racism = Very funny.
S11E02: Cartman Sucks - To prove that Butters is ‘gay’ Cartman photographs himself with Butters’ penis in Cartman’s mouth. Make sense? Yes, he pictures himself sucking off Butters, and then parades it round school. Only to be then told it makes Cartman gay. Very funny.
And there you have it. 3 or 4 hours of great South Park episodes. If you’re ever bored out of your mind for stuff to do, they should keep you busy.
… is pretty much the best show in the world. And it proved that again last night. Here’s a link to season four, episode two. I can’t keep posting the episodes so if you want to keep ahead of the UK or wherever you are and download them as they hit American TV then I recommend reading my guide to torrents which I put on here almost a year ago.

It’s not due to air on Sky in the UK until Sunday but it aired in the US last night. Want to watch it? OK. You can download it here.
I’ve literally just found it so I haven’t watched it yet but I’ve been waiting for this for like 6 months. Oh I’m excited. Probably too excited. I’ll save any write up until Monday so as not to ruin it for everyone.

So… Prison Break came back to our TV screens today. Download it here.
I still don’t know if I like this season yet…

Miss The O.C.? Of course you do.
Hot off the heels of The O.C.’s extinction comes Hidden Palms. A like-for-like replacement that looks to capitalise on the void left by the Seth Cohens and Ryan Attwoods.
The CW, an American channel not famous for it’s dramas, has ordered 8 episodes of Hidden Palms, with the pilot episode already being aired. I thought I’d bring this to your attention as there’s a lot of mixed feelings about the programme. Some people are revelling in it’s similarities to our favourite California-based show whereas some simply consider it a rip off.
I say judge for yourself.
The comparisons are fairly obvious. For starters, the cast includes three actors who’ve previously appeared in The O.C. The main character you’ll remember as psycho Oliver Trasck, then Zach from series two and actor Amber Heard also featured in there somewhere. The story is all too familiar as well. Coming from a troubled background, main character Johnny Miller is forced to move into the unfamiliar surroundings of Palm Springs, California. Here he is out of place in a rich society with many secrets – sound familiar?
Add to this an attractive cast, an emphasis on new music whenever and wherever possible and as much teenage angst as you can squeeze in… you have pretty much the exact formula that made The O.C. so successful. It’s no where near as good, I feel compelled to tell you. The characters are very obvious and much less intriguing than what we had in Orange County, but I’m willing to stick with it for it’s first 8 episodes. There are doubts it will be recalled for a second season due to The CW’s unfamiliarity with drama shows, but I’ll follow it nonetheless.

It seems every show is ending about now. This week was the season finale of Lost, in the past few months we’ve seen The O.C., Prison Break, Friday Night Lights and plenty of others all come to an end. Heroes has been a bit of a revelation this year - not so much in the UK, but definitely in the States. I’ve really enjoyed it too, its not like anything else on TV and the concept is just so so good.
I won’t say too much about the finish but the finale I anticpated almost came to life. I was expecting all the Heroes to cross paths and somehow end up in capes (because it’s been getting cheesier and cheesier throughout the series). None of them ended up in capes, but there was a fair amount of cheese I must say. But then again that was always going to be the case.
Apparently there’ll be a Heroes mini-series this summer with potential new characters, and we’ll be able to vote for the ones we want incorporated into season two. I don’t know what powers can be left though? Should be interesting.
To watch/download the season finale, click here. In a week or so I’ll preview some of the new shoes that are debuting in the fall/autumn - I’ll warn you now that I only noticed one from 30+ that will be any good.

Don’t let this picture fool you, Ben is far from anything but cool with our plane-crashees.
Today was the finale of the third season of Lost, which I was unware of until this morning. So its ending on episodes 22 and 23. I’ve mixed feelings on this ending. Season 2’s last episode was quite possibly the best hour of television I’ve ever seen, and this two-parter seemed to be heading in a similar direction but the finale really didn’t do much for me… to the point where I’m more “how are they going to carry on?” in series four than “oh my god! i can’t wait for it to come back!” I’m sure everybody who has seen it knows what I mean.
If you want to check it out, here is episode 22 (aka finale part 1/1st hour) and episode 23 (aka finale part 2/2nd hour). Enjoy.
